Following Jeff Ross's performance at the roast of Roseanne on Comedy Central, there has been increased interest in concealed carry permits.
...Wait, we meant the Aurora Colorado theater shooting. Well, both probably.
Anyways, a 54 year old man in Sparks, Nevada decided to bring a gun with him when he went to see The Bourne Legacy. He had a concealed carry permit.
At some point during the film the gun fell from his pocket, onto the floor, and fired.
Into his butt.
Well, butt cheek to be precise.
The man got up and left, and was later found at a hospital by police.
The Aurora shooting has sparked a wave of comments about how the shooter could have been stopped if more people carried guns. But, incidents like the one in Sparks makes us wonder how many more accidental shootings would occur. Sure, he only shot himself, and it was a non-serious wound, but the gun could have easily fire in any other direction, potentially killing someone.
Mass shootings might seem like they keep popping up, but that's because every incident gets widespread news coverage and the story stays in your head for a long time. The number of actual mass shootings is far lower than the number of old people who walk around with their gun's safety off, accidentally shooting shit.
